May in Western PA is unpredictable. We dodge late frosts and random rainstorms while enjoying the longer sunny days every chance we get. The garden is calling our name, it’s time to start planting those warm-season crops like tomatoes, peppers, and beans. we have to remember, Mother Nature has a tendency to throw a surprise frost or two in May, so we always have some row covers or blankets handy—because nothing says "welcome to May" like covering your precious plants in the middle of the night! 🌱🌧

And, of course, let’s not forget the animals. The warmer weather means more feed, more water, and more tending to the chickens, horses, ducks and other farm friends. May is also prime time for checking on our bees and making sure they’re healthy and thriving. The buzz around here is palpable—literally. 🐝 We try not to forget to take a moment and enjoy the beautiful blooms, because before we know it, we are knee-deep in mowing, weeding, and chasing chickens (its a thing). Welcome to May, where dreams and a little chaos go hand-in-hand!

We’re all about growing our reputation while helping other brands, products, and businesses thrive through partnerships and collaboration. Every day, I aim to be the best version of myself for my husband and daughter. No pressure to join in on our ag experiences—though, with all the fun happening, it’s tough not to smile and get involved! My goal is to build a better future for the next generation, teaching them the importance of conservation, embracing different preservation methods, and inspiring them to be the change-makers the world needs.

2025 GOALS

Grow the brand & reputation of Knauff Headquarters by delivering the products and goods to our customers timely and with the best quality we can
Expand Lavender Ameraucana specialty flock by practicing safe, consistent, ethical breeding practices
Broaden my knowledge in genetics to provide the BEST birds and eggs we possibly can by micro-learning, conferences, and in collaboration with respected ag-genenitist
Establish community knowledge hub and hands on classes to give everyone the confidence to try something new for a well rounded community by inserting ourselves in the community
Branch into new food preservation methods by exploring freeze drying options and availability
Establish second apiary so that we can ensure the bees don’t feel crowded and they stay happy
Build a barn to start boarding horses and riding lessons because I was so blessed to get my first pony for my 3rd birthday and I truly believe every kid that wants to be around horses should have that opportunity
